Pentenero explained that “collections increased by around 7 million, just under 14% compared to 2019”, a pre-pandemic year and therefore comparable to 2022, and that “the budget target has been achieved as the forecast of the 41 million for 2022. The sanctions – he specified – derive from traffic police checks aimed at improving the fluidity of traffic and public transport, to guarantee, in particular, respect for the rights of the most fragile road users and Basically, compliance with the laws. The operators of the Local Police – he added – are also involved in other areas to protect the safety of citizens, such as interventions in nightlife areas or to protect the health of consumers”. According to what was reported in the interpellation, in 2019 the fines had been 805 thousand 374, by the civich and Gtt auxiliaries, just over 831 thousand in 2021.
