Electra Vehicles raises $21 million

The American Electra Vehicles, active in artificial intelligence for electric mobility, has closed a 21 million dollar investment round led by United Ventures. This can be read in a note in which it is indicated that the Stellantis Ventures fund, set up last March by the homonymous group to drain investments in innovation, and existing investors Liftt, Club degli Investori and BlackBerry also participated in the operation.
Electra Vehicles provides artificial intelligence solutions for electric vehicles, electric fleets and companies that use batteries, to improve the autonomy, life and safety performance of the accumulators used.
The funds raised will be used to “strengthen the company’s operations, with the expansion of the technological and commercial teams and the entry into Italy and Europe, and accelerate the energy transition towards a more sustainable future through electric mobility”, explains the Boston group founded in 2015 by Fabrizio Martini, an ‘energy storage’ expert. Martini gained professional experience at NASA, where he developed a battery system for space shuttles bound for Venus.
Electra Vehicles, which recently opened an Italian branch in Turin, has closed a ’round’ of 3.6 million dollars (3.38 billion euros) in 2021. An operation that has already made it possible to expand the range of models of batteries and build a data set for over 300 types of batteries and accumulators. Last January Electra announced a ‘Design Win’ in collaboration with BlackBerry for the development of joint technology in the Pateo digital ‘cockpit’ on a Dongfeng vehicle.
