Hi-Lex wins contract with Jaguar Land Rover

Hi-Lex Italy, company based in Chiavari specialized in window regulators, door modules and control cables for the automotive industry and supplier of brands such as Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Fiat, Jeep, Lamborghini, Lancia, Maserati and Aston Martin, has been awarded a new contract: for the Jaguar Land Rover brand.

“We have been working on this project since July 2021 – said Giovanni Esposito, Key Account Manager of Hi-Lex Italy -, during these months we have managed with competence, tenacity and willpower to demonstrate that we are a reliable partner capable of developing a window regulator suitable for Jaguar’s needs. We do not supply standard products, but what we design and manufacture is tailored to specific customer requests both in terms of design, quality of materials and technological component. Jaguar has chosen to rely on us in a historic phase of transition for the English brand, a series of fully electric models developed on a new platform will be presented”.

Following the agreement sanctioned in mid-February, Hi-Lex and Jaguar will embark on a design process that will culminate with the start of production of window regulators. Meanwhile, three new projects, Iveco Daily, Maserati GranCabrio and Jeep Avenger, are coming into production in recent weeks.

“These are orders with very different processes, this underlines the great flexibility and ability of Hi-Lex Italy to adapt to the customer’s needs – explains Giorgio Sgrignani, plant operations manager -. The sports car segment involves a process that involves a predominant part of human work, in which skills and profound manufacturing skills are needed. This is an excellence of our plant recognized by the whole group. Other projects instead require a total redesign of the production lines and a different training of the operators”.

With the entry into full force of these orders, a 20% increase in the production of window regulators in the Chiavari site is expected from March.
