By activating the “speed limit” button, the car will not exceed the set limit. You can enter any required indicator. This is primarily a safety measure to avoid accidentally exceeding the speed allowed by traffic rules. That is, you will no longer need to be afraid of control cameras, and you will definitely not get a fine. Unfortunately, drivers often forget about this button, and some are not even aware of its existence.
How the speed limiter works
The driver must set the limit he does not want to exceed using a control, usually located on the left lever or handlebar.
If the limit is exceeded, the system will send an audible or visual signal, and no matter how hard the driver wants to accelerate, it will control the flow of fuel that the engine delivers to maintain the specified maximum speed.
This system can be turned off manually or automatically. As a rule, the speed limiter is released automatically for safety reasons as soon as the driver brakes, regains control of the accelerator pedal or increases speed.
The speed limit button is most effective on long journeys on motorways or roads with little traffic.
What does the orange indicator mean
Most speed limit indicators have two colors to indicate system status. The indicator lights orange when the system is on but the speed has not yet been set. After selecting an indicator, this LED will turn green.
If the dashboard has detected a problem, the indicator will remain orange and will not turn off until the problem is resolved. If this orange light stays on for a long time, it indicates certain malfunctions, such as a blown fuse, a brake switch malfunction, or a speed sensor malfunction.
