Production of cars and trucks in Brazil suffered a decline in February compared to the same month in 2022. Last month, 161.2 thousand units were assembled, or -2.9% compared to February 2022 and an increase of 5.6% compared to January of this year. The improvement over January is due to the end of collective holidays established in several factories in the country, said the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea). In the accumulation of the first two months of this year, however, an expansion of 0.8% was observed compared to the same period of 2022.
One of the new data from the Brazilian car market is the increase in demand for electric cars. Thus, 4,300 such units were sold in February, compared to 3,500 in the same month in 2022, which represents an improvement of 23%.
