With Mimo 2023 the self-driving car competition

From the competition, the first in Europe, of self-driving racing cars, i.e. without a driver, to the parade of historical models for the celebration of the 120th anniversary of the ACI. These are some of the events that will animate the 2023 edition of the Mimo – Milano Monza Motor Show which will be held from 16 to 18 June, with a calendar that includes test drives at the Monza National Autodrome and an exhibition hub in Piazza Duomo in Milan.
There will be 40 car manufacturers present at the event which will be “a dynamic event with many novelties and previews – explained the president of Mimo Andrea Levy at the presentation in Milan – all available to the public who will be able to test them in an evocative circuit, obtained from the between the paddocks and on the ancient flyover of Monza”.
In the third edition there will also be a focus on electric cars and plug-in hybrids. Sunday 18 June will be the day of the Indy Autonomous Challenge. For the first time in Europe, and on a circuit with bends and braking points, the competition of self-driving, unmanned racing cars, programmed by teams made up of universities and research centers from all over the world, will be staged. On June 16, the past and present of automotive history will meet in Piazza Duomo in Milan with the passage of the stage of the 1000 Miglia. “We have decided to focus on the attractiveness of the city for this in the context of Mimo 2023 Milan will be the information center of the event and showcase of the sector’s news. In 2022 Mimo brought 250 thousand tourists to Milan in three days”, commented the Councilor for Sport and Tourism of the Municipality Martina Riva. Saturday 17 June will be the turn of the models of the celebration of the 120 years of Aci Milano to parade. “In front of our headquarters, numerous cars that have written the history of motoring will set off towards the Monza National Autodrome – explained the president of Aci Milano, Geronimo La Russa -. Aci Milano will therefore be the link between the past, the present and the future thanks to the models on display, the maximum expression of technology, safety, sustainability, design and performance”.

Friday June 16th two major events will take place, the Premiere Parade and the Monzanapolis, both parades that will see the total 10 km covered by the union between the Formula 1 track and the high-speed ring, the present and the past of motor racing. The Premiere Parade is the parade that at 4.30 pm will see the representatives of the car manufacturers at the wheel of their new products accompanied by journalists, testimonials, sportsmen and ambassadors. At 7 pm it will be time for Monzanapolis, the celebration of the union of the two circuits which took place for the last time in 1961 and which will see the participation of collectors and owners of Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bentley, Dallara, Porsche, Lotus .

Saturday June 17th it will be the day dedicated to clubs and meetings, including the celebration fashion show for the 120th anniversary of ACI Milano. The parade will start from the historic headquarters in Corso Venezia in Milan, where the most iconic models in the history of motoring will be found before leaving for the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, where they will parade on 10 km of united circuits.

Sunday 18 June will be the day of the Indy Autonomous Challenge with the final at 2 pm. For the first time in Europe, and on a circuit with bends and braking points, the competition of self-driving racing cars without a driver programmed by teams made up of universities and search from all over the world. The new Dallara AV-23 will be driven by control software which, thanks to the sensors, supercomputers and other ADAS hardware installed, allows the cars to drive autonomously and to battle each other in head-to-head elimination challenges.
