Debut in Portimão for the new Bmw M2 MotoGP Safety Car

With the presentation of the new M2 MotoGP Safety Car at the opening of the racing season in Portimão, Portugal, BMW celebrates the 25th season of fruitful collaboration with Dorna Sports, which is the organizer of the top two-wheel championship.

The new BMW M2, which is the perfect basis to be the new MotoGP Safety Car, impresses by possessing the traditional characteristics of a high-performance sports car, but in a ‘concentrated’ format and with the most advanced technology.
With its compact dimensions and 460 HP TwinPower in-line 6-cylinder engine, the new BMW M2 has been modified to carry out the task of Safety Car in the 2023 season. The interventions include the roll bar, Recaro seats, safety belts 6-point racing light, fire extinguisher, roof safety lights and other special matching lights.
In the specific case, various M Performance modifications and parts were also used, such as the exhaust system, the sports chassis, the carbon exterior mirror caps, the diffuser and the rear spoiler.
In addition to the new M2 MotoGP Safety Car, the BMW 2023 fleet also includes many other official M models, medical and safety cars, as well as BMW M1000 RR safety motorcycles.
