The next generation of the Renault Espace minivan will actually be an elongated version of the current Austral SUV that can be equipped with 3 rows of seats. This is confirmed by a leak of images, as they appear in the use and maintenance manual of this new model.
As can be seen from the dimensioned drawings, this sixth generation of Espace will be 4.72 m long, ie 14 cm less than the current Espace model, but it is also 21 cm longer than the Austral.
An extension, according to the French magazine L’Automobile which released the images, which is not obtained exclusively on the wheelbase – brought to 2.74 m, i.e. 7 cm more than the Austral – but also by intervening on the rear overhang which gains 14 cm, sufficient to give space to the occupants of the third row.
No leaks, however, on the mechanical differences with Austral. To satisfy the curiosity we will have to wait for March 28, the day of the reveal of the sixth generation of Renault Espace.
