Designing the Mitsubishi electric crossover of the future. This is the request that the Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi Motors addressed to the seventeen students of the Master in Transportation Design of the IED in Turin, introducing the brief of their thesis project.
A zero-emission concept vehicle, strongly oriented towards performance and ready to meet the criteria of excellence in terms of design and 4×4 performance, to cross rough terrain, both on and off-road, but at the same time efficient and respectful of the environment. The students accepted the challenge by developing individual proposals, among which the company selected a shortlist of three: one was chosen as the basis for the development of the prototype. The young designers then worked as a team, as in a true style centre, to arrive at the design and creation of the Mitsubishi Moonstone.
