Kia EV9, the features of the extra large EV SUV

The characteristics of the EV9 battery-powered SUV, a particularly spacious vehicle due to the three rows of seats, have been disclosed by Kia Corporation. The car is based on the platform called Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), developed for the group’s EV vehicles. Aesthetically, it stands out for its wheelbase that reaches 3,100 mm, and for the wheels that can be 21-inch, 20-inch or 19-inch. Imposing, due to a length of 5,010 mm, a width of 1,980 mm, and a height of 1,755 mm, the car from the Korean company has a Cx of 0.28. The passenger compartment, with seven or six seats, allows you to adapt the seats in the second row, which offers space for 4 people, to different needs, taking advantage of their modularity.
Thanks to an 800-volt high-voltage battery pack with a capacity of 99.8 kWh, mounted on both RWD and AWD, the EV9 boasts a range of over 541 km in the WLTP cycle, and allows you to store the necessary energy to travel 239 km in about 15 minutes. Specifically, the RWD version uses a 150 kW and 350 Nm electric motor which allows it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds. While the AWD, with two electric motors, delivers a total power of 283 kW/600 Nm, sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds and, with the Power Boost (optional, purchasable through the Kia Connect Store), when the torque reaches 700 Nm, the time to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h drops to 5.3 seconds. Furthermore, with the Highway Driving Pilot (HDP) system, it can count on level 3 autonomous driving in some markets. The technology takes further steps forward also through the Kia Connect Store through which the user can purchase and update the various functions and on demand services, with the maximum flexibility offered by the Over the Air (OTA) system.
