Dirk Voeste new head of sustainability Volkswagen Group

Following the departure of Ralf Pfitzner, responsible for sustainability of the Volkswagen Group since 2018, at his request, Dirk Voeste will head this important department from 1 April, reporting to Gernot Döllner as Group Strategy Director and General Secretary.
“Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time,” said Oliver Blume, CEO of the Volkswagen Group.
That is why we are continuously driving forward the transformation of the Group and adopting a holistic approach to sustainability, which includes economic, environmental and social aspects. We are setting ambitious ESG targets for all our brands and divisions as part of our ten-point plan”.
“As the new head of sustainability – underlined Blume – Voeste will draw on his extensive experience to drive forward our ambitious decarbonization strategy and ESG objectives and further develop them together with the brands. In addition, we are sharpening the focus of our Sustainability Council making it more compact, more agile and directly focused on Volkswagen’s sustainable transformation.”
