On 20 and 21 May the “Guarcino-Campocatino” is run

On 20 and 21 May the “Guarcino-Campocatino” is back, a race valid for the Italian Historic Cars Uphill Championship. Specifically, the two days of motoring will see two official tests taking place on Saturday 20 May, and two race heats on Sunday 21 May. It is a race that returned to the official calendar of the ACISport Automobile Federation in 2021, 50 years after its last edition. The route foresees that the cars can retrace part of the hairpin bends of the legendary “10 Miglia”, proposing a show that in the 60s fascinated thousands of spectators and the most expert and famous drivers of the specialty. The 1966 edition, in particular, was one of the most exciting when the 16.950 kilometers of route with 160 bends, starting at an altitude of 600 meters and finishing at almost 2000 meters were “tamed” by Luigi Marignan, at the wheel of a Simca Abarth 2000 .
The aim is to re-propose the challenge between cars of great charm and competitive value, along the 7 kilometers of the track.
But the Guarcino-Campocatino is not only “historical”, given that the regulation also provides for the participation of modern cars.
