52 new green methane buses are arriving in Turin

The green turning point of Turin’s public transport continues with the arrival of 52 new methane buses produced by Industria Italiana Autobus, which will enhance the urban and suburban service and will replace the methane buses of 2006, with a significant reduction in CO2 emissions (-4%), Nox (-83%) and particulate matter (-98%). From today, the first vehicles will gradually be used on lines 61, 27 and 57. The buses were purchased with a loan of 12 million, 30% supported by Gtt and 70% with the contribution of the Piedmont Region. The new Citymood 12-metre Cng, built in Flumeri (Avellino) are equipped with a technology that includes driver assistance systems for accident prevention, such as rear-view mirrors with camera, obstacle detection system, peripheral vision. The internal design ensures habitability for all passengers including those with reduced mobility, access to whom is guaranteed by the totally low floor and the platform for people with disabilities.
