Electric cars, A2A revolution with low power columns

With the launch of the City Plug columns, entirely conceived by A2A and curated in the design by Giugiaro Architettura, the multiservice group revolutionizes the paradigm of recharging electric cars.
It does so by laying the foundations for the rapid development of private electric mobility in urban contexts and where few users have garages or private areas. And allowing, in the medium term, also the possibility of eliminating the spaces reserved for electric cars, bringing the sockets near generic parking lots.
A2A underlines that this solution – present in Brescia in the first parking stalls in via Boves – uses columns which are connected, as is the case for domestic ‘slipper’ sockets, to a single distribution unit, a new infrastructure model which reduces costs and complexity of implementation.
In fact, the use of low-power energy (up to 7.4 kW per outlet) brings the experience of domestic wall boxes to the streets and offers the possibility of creating low-investment recharging points (with the cost of a single rapid 300 kW column, 100 City Plug sockets are installed) and the transition to electric mobility is democratically facilitated.
“With these infrastructures, A2A is offering an absolute novelty in electric mobility: a more widespread and affordable service model for everyone, sustainable for the city and for those who decide to drive electric – said Renato Mazzoncini, Group CEO – For the segment e-mobility A2A’s strategic plan provides for over 280 million euros of investments by 2030. The project launched today represents the further development of a path that will lead us to install 22,000 charging points throughout Italy”.
