Ford E-Transit Courier focuses on electrification and design

The family of 100% electric vehicles from Ford Pro is expanding, which has unveiled its new E-Transit Courier. The development of the new commercial vehicle with the plug was dictated by the search for greater connectivity and productivity for customers who use compact vans. The newcomer is also fully integrated with the Ford Pro software and services platform – Ford’s complete recipe for even more efficient vehicle operation.

The E-Transit Courier, which joins the Ford Pro commercial vehicle range alongside the larger E-Transit and E-Transit Custom, has been completely redesigned with a larger, more flexible loadspace and 25% more volume compared to the previous model, so as to have the possibility of transporting two Euro pallets.
“E-Transit Courier enriches its segment – commented Hans Schep, general manager Ford Pro Europe – thanks to uncompromising electric performance, increased load capacity and fully integrated connectivity including charging solutions, the Ford Pro E-Telematics and the FordLiive uptime system. Ford Pro’s long market leadership allows us to have a comprehensive view of customer needs to help them get more productivity out of their compact vans.”
The new E-Transit Courier will make its public debut at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, UK, April 18-20, with production slated to start in 2024. Customers will also be able to order models of Transit Courier with petrol and diesel engines from summer 2023, with first deliveries later this year.
Based on Ford Pro forecasts, the new E-Transit Courier will also be appreciated by customers who recharge at home, being able to count on an 11 kW AC overnight domestic recharge in 5.7 hours, with the possibility of scheduling it in more convenient hours in terms of energy savings, simply by using the on-board touchscreen or the depot top-up software.
The vehicle also offers a DC fast charging capacity of up to 100 kW, available at public fast charging points. With 10 minutes of charging, you can add 87 km of range, with the battery able to go from 10% to 80% in less than 35 minutes. E-Transit Courier is also offering one year of free access to Ford’s Blue Oval Charge Network, which will include 500,000 public charging points by 2024.
All models will be built in Craiova, Romania, by Ford Otosan, Europe’s largest commercial vehicle maker, with annual production set to exceed 900,000 units by 2025, which also makes the Transit Custom and the E-Transit. 11 Ford Otosan is Europe’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, with annual production projected to exceed 900,000 units by 2025.
