Petrol rose to 1.875 euros per litre, the highest since August

Gasoline price up to coincide with the Easter holidays. According to Mase surveys, in the week between 3 and 9 April, the national average of green self-drinking stood at 1.875 euros per litre, with an increase of almost 1% compared to the previous week. According to the ministry’s graphs, this is the highest price recorded since 1 August 2022, when the price lists averaged 1.877 euros per liter.
The price of diesel, on the other hand, was substantially stable, with cars traveling on the reference days at 1.767 euros per litre.
The data on petrol released today by Mase fully confirm our alarms about the increase in price lists at the pump on the occasion of the departures of Italians for Easter. This was stated by Assoutenti, which today disseminates data on the consequences of the rise in fuel prices for household pockets. “Compared to Easter 2022, those who traveled by car during the holidays this year spent about 6 euros more on a full tank – explains the president Furio Truzzi – Petrol is in fact 6.7% higher than last year’s holidays year, affecting the travel expenses of Italians and causing a sting, considering the number of Italians on the move during the Easter holidays, equal to over 120 million euros”. “And the alarm is not finished – warns Truzzi – The upward trend of fuels continues also in these days and will affect the long weekends of 25 April and 1 May, when millions of Italians will travel by car to visit cities of art and for trips out of town. For this reason we ask the Government to intervene by resorting to Mr. Prices and the Guardia di Finanza to ascertain possible speculations linked to the departures of families during the holidays and long weekends”.
