Audi presents The Domino Act installation at the Fuorisalone

Audi opens the doors of the House of Progress: Audi, which is co-producer of the Fuorisalone with the magazine Interni for the tenth consecutive year, has opened the doors of the House of Progress – the creative hub of the Four Rings which until 23 April will animate the Milan Design Week – in the historic and prestigious location of Corso Venezia 11.
The ‘Home’ of Audi thus confirms itself as one of the key venues of the Milanese event and occupies the evocative new spaces of Portrait Milano, the luxury hotel of the Florentine hospitality brand Lungarno Collection, owned by the historic Ferragamo family.
A presence that is dominated by the spectacular installation ‘The Domino Act’ designed by the designer Gabriele Chiave with the creative collective Controvento. The work artistically reinterprets the concept of sustainability through that of ‘dominoes’ to underline how a decision in a strategic area can trigger a virtuous process impacting on others.

In fact, the installation takes up the theme of the Design Re-Evolution exhibition event by Iinterni, with which Audi is celebrating its tenth year of partnership and of which it is co-producer. It is the emphasis on the concept of circular economy which underlies Audi progress, understood as saving resources, conserving and recycling materials during production.
The closed cycles of raw materials with a high energy impact (aluminum, water, plastic, glass, paper, steel) are thus represented, recalled by tactile displays present within the installation.
‘The Domino Act’ underlines the importance of placing human values at the center of everything, as metaphorically represented by the Audi Skysphere Concept, the futuristic full electric roadster with variable wheelbase which makes its absolute debut for the Italian public. A futuristic model which – placed at the center of the project – is a clear reference to Audi’s anthropocentric approach in vehicle design and a symbol of how technological progress and emotion can arise from a totally sustainable strategy based on the circular economy.
Iconic Milanese location and cradle of humanistic comparisons already in the past centuries, the Audi House of Progress, located in the square of the Quadrilatero of the Hotel Portrait thus becomes a new meeting and aggregation point in the fashion district.
During the week the spaces will come alive with exchanges of ideas and moments of confrontation between architecture and nature with the designer Gabriele Chiave and the photographer and explorer Sebastian Copeland.
But the narration will also move to topical issues such as artificial intelligence, through the discussion between the philosopher Umberto Galimberti, Federico Marchetti, founder of YooX and pioneer of sustainability in fashion, and Fabrizio Longo, director of Audi Italia. Journalist Francesca Fagnani will moderate the exchanges and guide the story for an osmotic interpretation of the future.
From corso Venezia 11 the reflection triggered by Audi on sustainability and the ‘domino act’ also continues in via Montenapoleone with reference to the same installation, created in reduced dimensions. The MonteNapoleone District, with which Audi has had a partnership since 2014, also offers a preview for the Italian public of the full-electric Audi SQ8 e-Tron, the sports evolution of the first electric car of the Four Rings brand. To complete the presence of the brand, a special display case welcomes the Audi electric mountain bike, the first e-bike of the Four Rings as further confirmation of the transformation process of the brand from a simple manufacturer to a provider of mobility services.
Audi’s presence in the iconic locations of the Fuorisalone continues at the University of Milan in the context of the Interni Design Re-Evolution exhibition event with a further reference to ‘The Domino Act’ where the public can continue the narrative journey in the Audi vision.
