Road safety education courses, held by specially trained experts and teachers, to be activated in secondary schools, the attendance of which will provide for the acquisition of credits for the purpose of obtaining the driving licence. Verification, through a specific questionnaire, of the knowledge of road education and safety and of the law on road homicide, in all secondary schools (third, fourth and fifth grades).
Creation of “workshops” for meeting and discussion among young people, also via social networks or videos, and between lower and upper cycle students for peer tutoring experiences, as well as between upper cycle teachers and lower cycle students, to experiment with related activities to road safety. These are the proposals of the Ministry of Education on the subject of road safety.
Lastly, Minister Giuseppe Valditara is considering dedicating a minimum number of hours of civic education lessons to road safety education through a specific provision from the ministry, in order to enhance attention to this issue, also providing for specific teacher training . The opportunity to organize activities dedicated to “safe driving” is also being evaluated. “We work – Valditara writes on twitter – with the ministers Matteo Salvini and Matteo Piantedosi for the protection of our children. Road safety is our priority, no more tragedies on the roads. Our commitment will be constant to protect our young people”.
