Alain Prost’s Ferrari F40 is up for auction

The Ferrari F40 that belonged to Alain Prost is officially up for auction and will be auctioned off at RM Sotheby’s from 10 to 12 May. Specifically, the car, distinguished by the chassis number 83249, was the car assigned to the French F1 champion when he moved to Ferrari after the 1989 world championship.
Without catalytic converters and adjustable suspension, elements that were mounted in a later phase of the production of the Maranello car, the F40 in question, registered in 1990, was never driven by Prost. Then, it was bought by Graham de Zille, complete with Prost’s signature on the roof protected by a thick transparent layer still visible.
In 1999 it became the property of David Darling, then of Craig Johnson, then, in 2006, of Karl McKeowen, and, subsequently, of Alistair Dyson, in 2007, who kept it until 2016.
Equipped with Ferrari Classiche certification, and came second in the Fiorano competition, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of Ferrari, it is currently in France.
