Commercial vehicles, negative market in April (-4.5%)

The commercial vehicle market has a fluctuating trend, with ups and downs that alternate from month to month. After positive January and March and the slight decline in February, in April the market for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes fell again by 4.5% with 13,600 units against 14,242 in the same month 2022. The first quarter with 60,698 registrations, however, it marks +4.2% compared to the 58,253 of January-April 2022.

Based on current results, the Unrae estimate for 2023 for this vehicle category indicates 172,000 registrations, up 7% compared to 2022 but still 8.8% lower than the last pre-crisis year.

“The fund available for commercial vehicle incentives still has a surplus of over 96%, the registrations of pure electric vehicles in the first quarter are stationary at just 3.6% of the total market and, meanwhile, average CO2 continues to grow and marks an increase of 2.1% in the first three months of the year” underlines the president of Unrae, Michele Crisci.
