Dacia Spring Extreme Electric 65, you can feel the difference

The debut of the Extreme trim level, which covers the entire Dacia range and which moves the positioning of the various Sandero Stepway, Jogger, Duster and Spring higher up with a personal look, new finishes and new equipment, also coincides with the arrival in Italy of an unprecedented version of the Bev Spring city-suv which equally enhances its role as an electric entry-level.

With the arrival of the Spring Extreme Electric 65 – which now joins the Essential Electric 45 version – this highly successful model (over 110,000 orders in Europe and 10,000 in Italy since its launch) customers can have an even more interesting car for zero-impact driving in and out of town, not only on ring roads but also on long stretches of motorway.
Thanks to the data that Dacia has obtained from the analysis of connected services, it emerges – among other things – that the characteristics of Spring 45, and now even more than Spring 65, far exceed what is required by users of this electric sity-suv .
Those who drive a Spring – according to the statistics – make daily journeys that do not exceed an average of 31 km at a speed of 26 km/h. In 75% of cases, recharging is done at home and, in 66% of cases, with a domestic socket. Now, with the 20 HP made available by a new version of the electric motor already present in the 45, Dacia Spring Extreme 65 lays the foundations for changing (and by a lot) the almost exclusively urban photography of the use of this electric model.
The 48 kW (corresponding precisely to 65 HP) delivered by the new electric group in fact guarantee much more brilliant behavior on the road, which allows you not to be penalized in all those situations in which sprint and speed are essential to get out of the way in traffic.
We verified this in a comprehensive test around and in the center of Vienna, with a variety of road situations (from urban streets with a 30 km/h limit to the bundesstraßen around the capital. In the city, the new Spring Extreme Electric 65 accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in 3.9 seconds, improving the performance of the 45 version by 1.9 seconds. And in more fluid traffic situations – for example when entering motorways – the improved pick-up is appreciated, with a time to go from 80 at 120 km/h which is almost halved: 13.5 seconds against 26. An evolution linked to the new Electric 65 engine which stands out, in particular, for an increase in engine speed (up to 14,700 rpm, against the previous 8,500) to the benefit of power, but also due to a new calibration of the reduction unit, whose gears achieve a reduction ratio that goes from 7.162 to 12.057:1, thus increasing the torque available to the drive wheels.
Against this significant improvement in performance – which however does not change Spring’s prerogatives in terms of steering, suspension and brakes – the electric range is practically the same as the Electric 45 version, given that both models use a 26.8 kW. Filled up with energy at a domestic outlet or a Spring Extreme Electric 65 column, according to Wltp approval, it offers a range of 220 km in the mixed cycle and 305 km in the urban cycle.
The new trim level, it should be underlined, adds several new features to the (already quite complete) Spring Essential. In addition to the ‘copper’ finishes for the exterior mirrors, for the inserts in the roof bars, for the rings of the air vents and the borders of the multimedia display, there are the upholstery in Tap with copper-coloured inserts, the electrically adjustable door mirrors and the electric windows electric rear.
And above all there is the Nav 7 navigation media pack which includes the 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, smartphone replication, USB socket, rear camera and rear parking sensors. The guide also appreciates the new cartography with augmented reality effects in the most important forks. Note that the purchase includes the Map Care package which provides six free updates in three 3 years.
Without taking into account state and regional incentives, Dacia Spring Extreme Electric 65 costs 23,200 euros and joins the Spring Essential Electric 45 sold at a price of 21,450 euros.
