Munro Mk1, electric 4×4 that is not afraid of the mud of Scotland

It should come as no surprise that the Munro Mk1 tough and pure electric off-road vehicle was conceived and created by a Scottish start-up. This company – as the name stolen from mountaineering reaffirms where it identifies the mountains of Scotland over 3,000 meters – is well aware of the difficulties of off-road mobility in that region, both at high altitudes and in the plains and hills, where the mud to embarrass the most sophisticated non-professional 4x4s.

Munro Mk1 is therefore the most accredited heir to Land Rover generations in an electric key, just as the Ineos Grenadier is in the context of these traditional off-road vehicles – i.e. with separate chassis and rigid axles – but in the range of models with engines thermal. In particular, the recent pick-up variant offers a zero-emission alternative to Ice-engined work pick-ups such as the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux. The variant of the range-topping Mk1 – either closed body in Utility, Range or Performance trim levels or in the new pick-up – features a single electric motor sending 375PS and 516Nm via a two-speed transfer box gearbox (with reduction gear and central locking differential).

This allows you to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. All Munro Mk1s are also offered with a less powerful engine that produces 295 bhp and which allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 in 7.6 seconds. The top battery is 75.2 kWh and can be recharged with columns of up to 90 kW, allowing you to go from 15 to 80% in 36 minutes. Offered with prices starting at 58,000 euros, the Munro Mk1 has just been presented but the orders – mainly from companies and organizations – have practically already absorbed two years of work in the Scottish factory.
