Lombardy, leap of the Rc Auto: it costs more than 400 euros

The increase in motor liability insurance, which began almost a year and a half ago, is not slowing down. In Lombardy, in the last 12 months, the average premium paid to insure a four-wheeler has grown by 19.2%, exceeding 400 euros in April 2023. This is what was found by the Facile.it Observatory, based on a sample of over 2,400,000 estimates and related quotations made in Lombardy and collected by Facile.it over the last 12 months. Last month, Lombardy was the third area of the country with the lowest average premium (408.50 euros), after Friuli-Venezia Giulia (368.99 euros) and Trentino-Alto Adige (408.48 euros). .

“Over the last year, motor liability premiums have begun to rise gradually but steadily”, explains Andrea Ghizzoni, managing director insurance of Facile.it. “Only six months ago, tariffs in the region were 14% lower than those recorded in April 2023. The reasons for the increases are primarily the growing cost of claims due to inflation on the one hand, and more repairs on the other costly, both for spare parts and for labour”. The increase in the average rate of car insurance involves all the provinces of Lombardy, with Bergamo (391 euros) and Varese (400 euros), in the lead, which respectively mark a leap of 20.6%. Followed by Brescia (+20.4%, 407.60 euros) and Milan (+20.3%, 420.64 euros). The most expensive is Pavia with 434 euros (+17.5%) while the cheapest is Lecco, at 354 euros (+11.3%). The two provinces report price increases below the regional average, as do Monza and Brianza (+18.6%), Como (+18.2%), Sondrio (+17.2), Mantua (+15.7%) Cremona ( +15.6%) and Lauds (+12.2%)
