Wheels in the history of Aci in Noicattaro, ‘grape capital’

The appointment with Ruote nella Storia, the car rally organized by ACI Storico and Automobile Club Italia, returns to the streets of the village of Noicattaro on Sunday 28 May 2023. Also known as the “capital of grapes”, the town overlooks the Adriatic coast and a few kilometers from Bari. The aim is to highlight the national territory and the cars that have made the history of the automotive world.

“This year we have entered 3 stages in the territory of our Automobile Club on the Ruote nella Storia calendar. The first is the one we take to the municipality of Noicattaro, a few kilometers from Bari. We will go to discover the smallest Italian theater in the world, as well as the secrets of the restoration of our beloved vintage cars. A special thanks to our delegate from Noicattaro, Onofrio Pagliarulo, close to the Automobile Club Bari Bat and pillar of the historic world of his country”, explains the President of the Ac Bari BAT, Francesco Ranieri.

Territorially, Noicattaro is considered a sort of “middle ground” because it is squeezed between two Lame, including Lama Giotta, the southernmost ephemeral waterway of the entire Murge plateau enclosed in dense Mediterranean vegetation.

Several crews will take part in the event aboard historic cars, including a Volkswagen Maggiolone 1303, a Lancia Fulvia Coupé 2nd Series, a Fiat 500 TV Giannini, an Autobianchi Bianchina Cabrio, a Fiat 1100.

The historic cars will also lend themselves to a procession through the most characteristic places of the small Apulian village. A caravan that will reach The Collection classic car restoration center, where you will be able to attend a real restoration of a valuable car, carried out by professionals in the sector.
