International Mini Meeting, the impetus for the transition from the past

Great success for the International Mini Meeting 2023 (Imm2023) which took place from 25 to 29 May in Incisa and Figline Valdarno and which saw the participation of 1,600 specimens of all types and eras and over 6,000 fans of the iconic British model .

An initiative of the Mini Owners Club with the support of Mini Italia, the gathering was based at the Norcenni Girasole Hu campsite near Florence with the backdrop of the green landscapes of Chianti crossed – over the 5 days of the event – for peaceful raids towards Siena and San Gimignano . The International Mini Meeting was founded in 1978 by some enthusiasts from the various generations of the classic model, the one designed by Sir Alec Issigonis. Since then it has become the biggest annual event in the world for clubs and fans of the BMW, a meeting point between the classic models and the new generation created after the brand’s entry into the BMW Group.
“The International Mini Meeting is an opportunity to share – said Federica Manzoni, head of Mini Italia – and spread the values of inclusion, solidarity, fun, attention for the planet and for people, which are contained in the philosophy of Mini Big Love for the People, Big Love for the Planet. For us, the International Mini Meeting is the maximum expression of what the brand represents, a moment of celebration with the entire vast Mini community”.
Strolling through the sprawling Norcenni Sunflower Hu village, in addition to the vintage Minis, enthusiasts were able to see and experience the current range, including electric and electrified models. In particular, the attention – and the selfies – focused on the Aceman concept. the first fully electric crossover of the new Mini family, and on the Cabrio Electric, a brand new limited edition of 999 units for all world markets.
Confirmation of Mini’s attention to sustainability, a value that has been part of this model’s DNA since the first generation Morris Mini Minor signed by Issigonis and invented in the late 1950s to overcome the global oil crisis.
Today, the same passion pushes Mini to move forward to face the challenges of a new generation of products that continue on the path towards a completely electric future, through a series of sustainability actions and ambitions.
The International Mini Meeting 2023 confirmed with meetings, insights and discussions – also held over dishes of great Tuscan cuisine – that it is time to accompany the Mini community into the world of sustainable mobility by projecting it into the future, exciting it and fueling the common passion. Through concrete gestures, moments of sharing but also collaboration with partners who share the Big Love philosophy.
