A green turn for transport in Alghero, where from now on it will be possible to travel on fully electric-powered buses. The Arst inaugurated four new Class I e-Atak vehicles, produced by the Turkish company Karsan.
They are eight meters long buses, with a capacity of 52 passengers and a range of 250 kilometres. They are equipped for the transport of people with reduced mobility, the elderly and parents with strollers. Those of Alghero are the first electric buses of a fleet of 68 vehicles that will be used throughout Sardinia. “For Alghero it is a day to remember, these are events with tangible implications on the urban quality and life for all citizens – comments the mayor Mario Conoci – At the same time, talks continue with Arst for the ambitious project, still in the preliminary phase , for the general redevelopment of the central station at Pietraia. The renewal of the means now – clarifies the mayor – must necessarily follow the immediate adaptation of the infrastructure, with new intelligent poles, stops and shelters suitable for the importance that the city of Alghero covers in Sardinia”
