This morning Alvaro Bautista visited the Brembo racing department located in Curno, a few kilometers from Bergamo. An intermediate stage, before continuing for about 350 kilometers southwards, in the direction of Emilia Romagna, where the fifth round of the WorldSbk championship awaits him on the Marco Simoncelli circuit in Misano.
Together with his Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team staff, the current WorldSbk world champion was welcomed by Brembo’s managing director Daniele Schillaci and some collaborators of the Bergamo-based company who work in close contact with Bautista and the his team. The Spanish rider spent a few hours in the company’s production departments. Bautista was then accompanied by Brembo staff to the company headquarters, located within the Red Kilometer.
“It is a pride to have a champion like Alvaro Bautista here with us today. In Motorsport, we work alongside teams and their drivers, year after year, pursuing technological progress, performance and safety in an indissoluble way, as only Brembo has been able to do for so many years”, says Mario Almondo of Brembo Performance.
“I would like to thank all the Brembo people who invited me to visit their headquarters today. I was fascinated to see how much passion and dedication goes into every stage of manufacturing of the braking systems”, says Alvaro Bautista.
“I race – he adds – in Superbike and the brakes help me in every race, but here they produce calipers, pads and discs for many teams and riders, it’s truly incredible”.
