In May, the Audi Sport Team returned to Saudi Arabia facing extreme temperatures, up to 42°C, and bitter winds, with the RS Q e-tron E2 powered by a renewable fuel that cuts carbon dioxide emissions by 60%. carbon, and completing 2,568 kilometers of testing without any problems.

On this occasion, two variants of tires from the official supplier BF Goodrich were used, and the team measured and compared the performances by recreating the conditions of the recent Dakar thanks to a “sprint” track, characterized by gravel and sand in which the suspensions were put to the test, and over 110 kilometers of stony ground where the durability and resistance of the tires were pushed to the limit.

Furthermore, the calibration of the shock absorbers was refined, so that reliability and performance could progress hand in hand. Subsequently, an in-depth analysis of the data collected was foreseen, to better prepare for the Dakar 2024, because in the last Dakar there was frustration for the punctures and the small unexpected events that compromised the position in the general classification, as can be seen from the statements of Rolf Michl, CEO of Audi Sport GmbH and responsible for the brand’s international sports activities, which arrived after the competition.
