Ducati yellow takes center stage on the Misano circuit

A tribute to its history in the world of competitions, that of Ducati was staged last weekend on the track at Misano. The official WorldSBK and MotoGP teams of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer took to the asphalt of the Misano Grand Prix of the respective World Championships with a special livery characterized by the return of Ducati yellow.

The project was presented during a press conference held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in which the Director of the Ducati Style Center Andrea Ferraresi and the designer Aldo Drudi, who created this special livery, spoke. The livery was unveiled just before the formation lap of Race 1 of the Italian round of WorldSBK. As the Aruba.it Racing Ducati Team garage opened, the official riders, world champion Alvaro Bautista and teammate Michael Ruben Rinaldi, entered the track astride their respective Panigale V4 Rs ‘dressed’ in Ducati yellow with suits coordinated with the shades of the bike. Yellow is a color that has an important tradition in the history of the Borgo Panigale motorcycle manufacturer.

The first sports bikes in this color scheme date back to the first half of the 70s (750 Sport and 750 Ss Desmo of the Spaggiari team), but it was in the 90s that Yellow Ducati, the one that inspired the special livery, met its moment of greatest popularity with the use in the racing world, which then extends to series production. Among the models in Ducati yellow were the Ducati 748, whose racing derivation led Paolo Casoli to triumph in the 1997 edition of the Supersport World Series, without forgetting superbikes such as the 916, 996, 749, 999 and numerous other models in the range.

“Ducati – recalled Andrea Ferraresi – has an extraordinary history of which its passionate fans are extremely proud. The yellow color is an important part of it and we have chosen to celebrate it through a contemporary livery full of energy. Color is an essential ingredient for the recognition of the brand and it is also a fundamental element for all Ducatisti. Ducati is Red, but Yellow also belongs to us and at the same time relies on an important tradition in Italian motorsport”.
