From 12 June 4 new ‘Call the bus’ in Genoa

From 12 June to 10 September in Genoa, four new on-call public transport lines will come into service in the Municipalities of Bogliasco, Pieve Ligure, Rezzoaglio and Serra Riccò. This is foreseen by the ‘Call the bus’ project illustrated in Genoa by the president of Amt Ilaria Gavuglio, the regional councilor for Transport Augusto Sartori, the managing councilor for Transport of the Metropolitan City of Genoa Claudio Garbarino and the mayors of the Municipalities concerned.

Also from 12 June ‘Call the bus’ already active in the Municipalities of Bargagli and Davagna will be ‘split’ during the summer into two distinct services, for use in the respective hamlets of the two Municipalities. From July, the number of AMT on-call services will grow further: thanks to the ‘Internal Areas Project’ financed by the Liguria Region, the service will also be activated in Mezzanego and in Val Trebbia. During the summer, therefore, the number of on-call services present on the Amt extra-urban network will rise to 14.

Reservations can be made from Monday to Saturday from 8 to 19 by calling the toll-free number 800499999 or by contacting the driver parked at the terminus directly. The online booking app will be renewed in the coming weeks.

“Convenience, ease of use and environmental and social sustainability – recalled Gavuglio – are the principles that regulate our made-to-measure on-call services”. According to Sartori, “the service is expanding more and more throughout the territory served by Amt, also covering hamlets with few inhabitants but who need to use public transport”. A “high quality” collective transport service – concluded Garbarino – which at the same time avoids waste of public money”.
