The 1000 Miglia will cross Lugo and Imola on 13 June

Imola and Lugo are ready to welcome the passage of the 1000 Miglia 2023. This was announced by the mayor of Imola Marco Panieri, the mayor of Lugo Davide Ranalli and the director of the Imola racetrack Pietro Benvenuti together with Giuseppe Cherubini, vice president of the 1000 Miglia 2023, during the press conference held at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack. The changeover will take place on Tuesday 13 June during the first day of the competition which, once it has left Brescia, Verona, Bovolone and Ferrara, will pass through Lugo where the stamp check will take place in Piazza Francesco Baracca. Then the historic cars will continue until the arrival in Imola at around 6.40 pm, at the stamp control in Piazza Matteotti, which will anticipate the entrance to the Autodrome where timed trials will take place around 6.45 pm. The cars will thus leave Imola in the direction of Forlì, the last stage before the arrival in Cervia-Milano Marittima. “The 1000 Miglia – said the mayor of Imola Marco Panieri – a historic, legendary race in which Imola was a protagonist in the past.

In fact, in our city the last technical stop of all the teams was scheduled before the last 410 km to reach the finish line and, in viale De Amicis, Enzo Ferrari himself coordinated the supplies and checks of the Ferrari team, as clearly demonstrated by the images of the 1934 edition”. The 1000 Miglia, or rather “the most important traveling museum in the world – underlined the mayor of Lugo Davide Ranalli – did not touch Lugo, but some Lugo citizens such as Supremo Montanari, an amateur driver, took part with sensational results. We would like to contribute a signal of a recovery of normality with an extraordinary event after the difficult days of May”.
