Aica (Italian Association of Auto Equipment Manufacturers), and Assogomma (Association of Rubber Industries, Electric Cables and Similar) announce the signing of an important international agreement with Wdk (Association of the German rubber industry) which will allow auto equipment manufacturers to obtain Italy the German certification thanks to the collaboration and assistance of Cerisie (Italian Rubber Laboratory).
The agreement refers to the guidelines studied by Wdk to test in the assembly phase of UHP and RunFlat tires that the materials that make up the bead and the internal liner are safeguarded. This is a technical specification that has long been established on the market, defined in Germany in collaboration with car manufacturers and manufacturers of tires, rims and tire-mounting equipment.
The guidelines have been adopted worldwide by German car manufacturers as a mandatory requirement both in the original equipment assembly phases and for after-sales assistance in their respective commercial networks.
This specification has become an important requirement for tire changer manufacturers to access a large part of the global market.
The agreement signed by Aica and Assogomma, made possible thanks to the proven decades of experience of Cerisie as a test laboratory and to the sharing with Wdk, already allows manufacturers of auto equipment to carry out the verification in Italy, at the Cerisie laboratory in Monza. compliance of the products with the Wdk guidelines, obtaining the release of the relative certification certificates and technical documentation.
It is an absolute novelty that translates into a considerable saving of time and resources for the Italian manufacturers of car equipment, until now forced, to obtain the certification of their tire changers, to have to go to Germany or to have the Wdk certifiers come to Italy.
“Aica has always believed in the importance of collaboration between associations, both nationally and internationally – comments the president of Aica Mauro Severi – This important synergy in the supply chain, in addition to offering great advantages to our associated companies, is a another opportunity to incentivize and promote the quality of the products that made the Italian auto equipment industry famous worldwide “.
“Assogomma was a co-founder member of Confindustria more than 100 years ago and in 1959 of the European Rubber Association – says Livio Beghini, president of Assogomma and Cerisie – The associated rubber industries now represent over 80% of the workforce employed. in our sector, with a growing trend. Cerisie is an asset of Assogomma: the address of the new Board is to be ever closer to the needs of the sector with a view to internationalization, sustainability and circularity. This important international recognition confirms the goodness of the strategic guidelines of Assogomma and Cerisie with a view to an increasingly enlarged supply chain “.
