The organizers of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which will take place from 23 to 26 June 2022, have announced that the theme of this year’s event will be The Innovators – Masterminds of Motorsport, to celebrate the technical landmarks that have seen the racing car transform over the years, up to the essential role of experimenting with new technologies that will have an impact on the next mobility.
The theme will be ‘reflected’ throughout the event, from the cars and drivers tackling the iconic Goodwood Hill, to special guests and interactive exhibits, including those of the Festival’s partners and exhibits such as Future Lab and Electric Avenue.
Long established as the world’s largest celebration of motorsport and automotive culture, the Festival of Speed is increasingly geared towards the future, offering a glimpse into the technology of tomorrow, in the context of history. In its fifth year, the Future Lab will showcase ‘Technology for a Better World’ with exhibitors in the fields of mobility, robotics, aviation, healthcare and more. New for 2022, it will be the special experience that will allow visitors to get behind the wheel of a variety of exciting electric innovations.
“The theme of this year’s Festival, The Innovators – Masterminds of Motorsport – said the Duke of Richmond, owner of the famous estate – allows us to celebrate some of the greatest successes in history, also highlighting the ever-evolving focus on technology of the next few years. The Festival of Speed is the only place in the world where all these stories can be brought together in one event, celebrating the past, present and future in a unique and dynamic way. ”
