(ANSA) – MILAN, 18 FEB – The general secretary of the CISL Luigi Sbarra, asks for “flexibility in leaving” and “social sustainability” for social security. “From the age of 62 – he says – people must be given the free decision to retire”. “41 years of contributions are enough – he continues – to have the sacrosanct right to a pension”. “In Europe – he explains – the average age at leaving is 63, with us 67 and if we don’t stop them we will reach 70”.

“With the Fornero law – he concludes – 117 billion have been saved in 8 or 9 years. The time has come to reinvest a part of it to guarantee social sustainability to the pension system”.

On the fiscal front, however, the leader of the CISL asks to “reduce taxes to those who really pay them to the last cent, employees and retirees”. “Every year – he points out – we burn 115 billion in tax avoidance and evasion, half of the Pnrr”. Hence the need to “fight tax evasion” and “make the multinationals of the economy pay more, which have done gold deals in times of crisis and health emergency, paying little or almost nothing to the community”.

As for the relationship with the CISL and UIL, who went on strike without the CISL last December, according to Sbarra, “trade union unity has never been questioned. We must recover it and we must tighten more ties on the unitary platforms”. (HANDLE).
