Already in March 2022, a large-scale increase in payments awaits pensioners, but a military threat from the Russian Federation is growing at the border and Ukrainians are afraid that the planned indexation will be disrupted.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal spoke about what will happen with the promised increase in pensions, answering questions from deputies in the Verkhovna Rada.

The prime minister assured that the situation with payments is under control and the increase will be made on time. According to Shmygal, Ukrainians will receive increased pensions in March.

The head of government noted that the National Bank has enough reserves to keep the hryvnia exchange rate stable, and the budget was overfulfilled in January more than UAH 10 billion.

“Information pressure and escalation near our borders affect the economic background, but the situation remains stable and controlled,” the head of the Cabinet said.

Indexation of pensions in March

From March 1, 2022, the pensions of Ukrainian pensioners will be indexed by 14%, but they will be included in the list of those who will receive increased payments Not all.

An increase in the following pensions is envisaged:

  • military personnel (an average of UAH 705);
  • insurance pensions assigned until 2019 (on average UAH 500, and at least UAH 100);
  • minimum pensions for persons with disabilities as a result of the Chernobyl accident and other pensions assigned to the liquidators of the tragedy (an average of 400 UAH).

However, even those who are not included in the list will receive a pension supplement in the amount of 135 UAH
