Mef: 49 subsidiaries, 12 listed companies capitalize 178 billion

(ANSA) – ROME, FEBRUARY 28 – At the end of 2021 the 12 companies controlled by Mef listed on the stock exchange, ENAV, Enel, Eni, Fincantieri, Leonardo, Italgas, Poste Italiane, Rai Way, Saipem, Snam, STMicroelectronics, Terna, had a total capitalization of 178 billion euros, 23.16% of the total value, and almost 10 billion more than the 168.4 billion at the end of December 2020. This is the result of the latest survey carried out by the Comar Study Center on investee companies. The energy sector absorbs over 72% of turnover, followed by mechanics (14.3%) and transport and telecommunications (10.2%), with marginal shares in ict, publishing-entertainment-sport, services to the PA, in the environment-territory.

According to the data relating to 2020, the companies controlled by the Mef directly or indirectly are 49 (CoMar does not consider in its study the 11 companies where CDP does not go beyond joint control such as Encyclopedia Treccani, Rocco Forte Hotels, Telecom Italia, Webuild, etc.) and in the last 2 years there has been a new growth trend of the “state-entrepreneur”. Among the new companies, ITA-Italia Trasporti Aereo or Holding Reti Autostradali or ITsART or DRI d’Italia (in Invitalia, for the steel industry and ex ILVA rehabilitation), connected to the ecological transition, Green.It (CDP and ENI) Renovit (CDP and Snam). The 2022 Budget Law also provided for the establishment of “Giubileo 2025”, headed by the MEF and other companies were transferred to the Mef following the commissioning of the Parent Company, as happened for Anpal Servizi. Expo 2015, on the other hand, has ceased operations and is in liquidation, while Italia Infrastructure, introduced with the 2020 Budget Law, has not yet been established. (HANDLE).
