Understanding: the art market is causing turbo, digital boom and young people

(ANSA) – MILAN, 07 MAR – In 2021 the art market in Italy put the turbo back to pre-Covid values ​​with an increase of almost 10% compared to turnover in 2019 (about 850 million euros estimated). Also in this area, the pandemic has marked a profound transformation with a strong increase in online sales and greater interest on the part of Millennials. The presence of women is also increasing among Italian collectors. The new edition of “Collectors and value of art in Italy-2022”, the second volume of the editorial series promoted by Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking in collaboration with the Management Art, Culture and Historical Heritage and the Studies and Research Department.

“The world of art is constantly growing and evolving during the pandemic: digitization has increased and, in particular for millennials, an increasing attention to the world of sustainability is confirmed”, says the director general of Intesa. Sanpaolo Private Banking, Andrea Ghidoni, during the presentation of the new volume, at the Gallerie d’Italia in Milan, underlining that the bank will continue to invest and support the sector.
