(ANSA) – ROME, MARCH 07 – In the course of 2021 the tax revenues ascertained on the basis of the criterion of legal competence amounted to 496,094 million euros with an increase of 48,497 million euros compared to the year 2020 (+10, 8%). The change partly reflects the improvement in the economic situation, but in part there are still various factors of unevenness in the monthly distribution of revenue due to the “lockdown” introduced in 2020 and the consequent economic and payment suspension measures adopted to address the sanitary emergency. The Mef communicates it.
Among the revenues we point out the VAT: indirect taxes amounted to 226,287 million euros in 2021, with an increase of 31,648 million euros (equal to + 16.3%). The increase in VAT contributed to the positive trend (+23,928 million euros, + 19.3%) and, in particular, the levy component on internal exchanges (+18,582 million euros, + 16.3%) and on imports (+5,346 million euros, + 53.2%).
