Martial law radically changes the life of the country and introduces certain important restrictions for its citizens. In Ukraine, they took such a step because of the start of a large-scale war of the Russian Federation against our state.

Since martial law may somewhat limit the rights of Ukrainians, Segodnya tells what things you can’t carry with you at such a time.

Martial law itself doesn’t change the rules about what you can’t carry with you, but there are a few nuances that can make life a lot harder for you.

So, if you are not a member of the military and have an unregistered weapon, you are not allowed to carry it with you, despite martial law.

Also, the National Security and Defense Council’s Disinformation Counteraction Center advises against carrying or carrying knives with signs of combat and all other weapons.

It is very important that during the conduct of hostilities you are not mistaken for a military or security official, therefore:

  • do not wear clothes with camouflage elements (including military boots, hats), any military uniform (unless you are a member of the army or a member of the terrorist defense);
  • patches with the names of any law enforcement agencies and armed formations;
  • any product that has a military style or is used by military personnel, including bags, backpacks, flasks, flashlights, etc.

Because of such things, you can be mistaken for a military man by both sides, and both can be identified, like an enemy.

At the same time, remember that during martial law in the country, you have be sure to carry documentsproving your identity.
