(ANSA) – ROME, MARCH 17 – According to preliminary estimates, in the fourth quarter of 2021 the house price index increased by 0.1% compared to the previous quarter and by 4.0% compared to the same period of 2020 (it was + 4.1% in the third quarter of 2021). This was announced by Istat by revising down the previous estimate of the third quarter of + 4.2%. “In 2021, the prices of houses purchased by families increase on average for the second consecutive year, registering the largest growth (+ 2.5%) since the time series of the IPAB index was available (2010)” is the comment from Istat thus highlighting the exit of the real estate market from the pandemic crisis.
“The increase in prices is particularly strong in the Northern and Central areas where the growth in prices of new houses compared to 2020 is the highest in the country (+ 6.5%) after the decline of the previous year (-1 , 0%). The growth in house prices in Milan, which has been underway for six years, is confirmed, albeit slowing down.
