(ANSA) – ROME, MARCH 17 – In 2021 the hires activated by private employers were over 7 million 167 thousand compared to 6 million 476 thousand terminations with a positive balance of almost 692 thousand contracts. It can be read in the INPS precariousness observatory. The balance for open-ended contracts was positive for 119,148 units while the net change for fixed-term employment was equal to +346,205.
In February 2022 63.996 million hours of layoffs were authorized, with a decrease of 24.2% on January and 63.1% on February 2021. The hours authorized in the month for health emergency were 21.7 million. The total number of hours of layoffs authorized in the period from 1 April 2020 to 28 February 2022, due to a Covid 19 health emergency, is 6,639 million.
In January 173,792 applications for unemployment arrived at the INPS, with an increase of 20.4% compared to the same month in 2021 when, however, the blocking of layoffs was in force to deal with the health emergency. (HANDLE).
