Ukrainians, fleeing the hostilities, go abroad en masse. There, our citizens have certain problems in the arrangement of life, and the first obstacle may be currency exchange. For example, some exchange offices in Poland refuse to accept hryvnia.

To alleviate the difficulties with the hryvnia exchange, the National Bank of Poland introduced some changes. Reuters reports about it.

What changed

The Polish National Bank has announced cooperation with the country’s largest creditor PKO BP. This is to allow almost 2 million Ukrainian citizens who came to Poland to convert hryvnias.

From now on 100, 200, 500 and 1000 UAH banknotes can be exchanged for Polish zlotys at PKO BP branches total amount of 10 thousand UAH.

Segodnya has already written that Ukrainians, who were forced to leave for Poland because of the war, faced the problem of currency exchange some exchange offices refuse to accept hryvnia.

The reason is that in recent days so much Ukrainian currency has been handed over that their conversion into zloty simply ceased to pay off.

In a commentary to Segodnya, financial analyst Aleksey Luponosov advised: in order not to get into such a situation, it is better to keep money on a bank card if you are planning to travel abroad. You can also exchange currency directly at banks or exchange offices in Ukraine.
