Pnrr: Giovannini, ready for additional resources on new races

(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 06 – On expensive materials “we need to distinguish between existing and new contracts. For the new tenders it is clear that we will start from market prices and therefore will cost more. The government is ready to put resources additional on these projects, because the commitment to the implementation of the NRP is absolutely a priority “. This was stated by Enrico Giovannini, Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility. “For existing projects – we have already allocated resources to update those contracts”, “after the approval of the Def, the government will make new interventions because the realization of the works of the NRP is absolutely a priority”.
As regards the contracts in place just yesterday, the Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility, Enrico Giovannini, sent a circular to the main public contracting stations (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, Anas, Port System Authority, Superintendency for public works, etc.) inviting them to proceed as promptly as possible to the payment to the companies of the compensations on the contracts in place due to the increases in the prices of materials which occurred in 2021. In particular, explains a note from the ministry, the contracting authorities must make payments using the own resources set aside for contingencies in the economic framework of each intervention or other available resources deriving, for example, from auction discounts, without waiting for the distribution of the Fund created with decree-law no. 121/2021, which intervenes only if the contracting authorities do not have sufficient resources. Giovannini’s circular emphasizes that the transfer of the Fund’s resources to the contracting authorities “must in no way condition or delay the payments that can be made from own resources”.
