(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 09 – The price increases hit the traditional Easter lunch and will lead Italian families to spend a total of over 100 million euros more to set the tables on the occasion of the holiday. This was stated by Codacons which, in view of the anniversary, carried out a survey to understand the consequences of the price increases in the food sector on the pockets of Italians.
With the same consumption, families will spend over 100 million euros more for typical Easter food products – analyzes the Codacons – This is due to the tensions in the retail price lists of a multitude of foods and raw materials that are inevitable on the tables of Italians in occasion of the traditional Easter lunch.
Among the prices in flight Codacons points out: flour, an indispensable good for the preparation of numerous Easter cakes, today costs 10% more than last year, while butter rises by + 17.4%. Seed oil jumps to + 23.3%, sugar costs 5.6% more. Pasta rises by + 13%, fruit by + 8.1%, bread by + 5.8%, while vegetables record a record of + 17.8%. (HANDLE).
