Ukrainians who were forced to leave the country and moved abroad because of the war are entitled to various social guarantees. Each country determines its own conditions, and each Ukrainian is entitled to certain financial assistance.

In Japan, Ukrainians will be paid some amounts daily. They are reported by Japan Today.

To whom and how much will be paid

Under the new rules, the Japanese government will pay financial assistance for at least 6 months. Separately from her Ukrainians will cover the cost of medical care and Japanese language lessons. They will also help migrants with employment.

Those Ukrainians who were evacuated to Japan will be temporarily accommodated in a hotel and paid the following amounts:

  • children under 12 years old – 500 yen per day (117 UAH);
  • people over the age of 12 – 1,000 yen per day (234 UAH).

Separately, these payments will be reimbursed for food expenses.

If these people from hotels move to new housing provided by municipalities or enterprises, the daily allowance will increase:

  • children under 12 years old – up to 1200 yen (285 UAH);
  • people over the age of 12 – up to 2400 yen (570 UAH).

The government will also provide a one-time assistance of 160,000 yen (UAH 37,563) for evacuated Ukrainians aged 16 and over, and 80,000 yen (UAH 18,781) for those under 16 when they move to a new location.
