You can’t find lower prices anymore: how the price of equipment has risen since the beginning of the war in Ukraine

We tell you how prices for the most popular gadgets in Ukraine have increased since the beginning of martial law

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, prices for popular equipment have increased. Some goods have risen in price by a small amount, but some gadgets are now much more expensive than they were before martial law.

Today, they compared how much Ukrainians paid for equipment in February 2022, and how much they have to pay now.

How much have gadgets become more expensive?

To compare prices, we chose the resource E-Catalog. There, in the “Popular” section, we have selected gadgets that are bought most often.

For example, among phones popular Apple iPhone Xr 128GB as of the beginning of February, it cost UAH 16,993. Data for February 28 shows that the average price rose to UAH 18,223, and it reached its peak exactly one month later – 20 642 UAH By mid-April, there was a moderate reduction in prices in the amount of up to a thousand hryvnias.

Another popular model Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G has also risen in price since the start of martial law. The price has changed like this:

  • February 21 – UAH 11,682;
  • March 21 – UAH 14,514;
  • April 11 – 13 167 UAH.

Xiaomi Redmi 10 has also gone up in price. When by the end of February the price for it was UAH 5,465, then by the end of March it reached UAH 6,790, and as of April 11, the average price for a phone was 6 854 UAH

Smartwatches have also gone up in price. For example, a popular model Samsung Galaxy Watch Active by the end of February it cost UAH 6,221, and already in mid-March, UAH 7,199. Like some of the previous examples, the price went down at the beginning of April, and as of the 11th, this model costs 6 258 UAH

Here is the price for Apple Watch 6 Aluminum in March and April it grew not so actively. These smartwatches in February, March and April cost UAH 12,975, UAH 14,829, 14 350 UAH according.

Prices have gone up for tablets as well. On the Xiaomi Pad 5 prices changed like this:

  • February 21 – UAH 12,192;
  • March 28 – UAH 14,736;
  • April 11 – 14 287 UAH.

And on a tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite like this:

  • February 21 – UAH 10,401;
  • March 28 – UAH 12,597;
  • April 11 – 13 145 UAH.

Consequently, the prices of various gadgets have increased since the beginning of martial law. For most goods, the peak of growth occurred at the end of March. Already in April, prices for most of them gradually went down.

What are the most popular trademarks owned by Russians

Today they said that Ukrainians, buying goods under some well-known trademarks, give money to the Russian aggressor.

So, the most popular TMs owned by Russians are as follows: baby food brands (Agusha, Zasinaiko, Theme / Theme)teas (Lisma, Curtis, Maisky)milk products (Prostokvashino, Aktual, Merry Milkman, Miracle)cosmetics (Faberlic)medicine (viferon, dioxidin, rebilar)beer (Baltic, Zhiguli) and even the media (AiF, RBC).
