The war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine turned the aggressor into economic sanctions, exit of companies and investors. Now all this affects absolutely all spheres of life in this country.

Daniil Getmantsev, head of the BP committee on finance, tax and customs policy, spoke about how the Russian economy is further sinking and the standard of living of Russians.

Government spending rose, foreign investment fell

In Russia, the cost of implementing state projects increased by 27%. That is, this year national projects should spend 620 billion rubles morethan last year. In general – 2.9 trillion rubles.

Foreign investment also fell to a record low.

“Foreign investment in real estate in the Russian Federation fell in the first 3 months of 2022 to a record low level: the share of investment in commercial real estate was only 1.8%, by the end of the year it may approach 0%,” Getmantsev wrote.

Experts also predict that the coming a period of total non-payment of funds for loans and taxes to the budget. In this regard, several financial self-regulatory organizations of the Russian Federation have applied to the government and the Central Bank with a request to introduce a “total moratorium” on bankruptcies and forced collections.

“Experts fear that debtors will slow down not only the payment of loans, but also stop paying for housing and communal services and delay the payment of salaries,” Getmantsev added.

The real estate market is also in crisis, and car factories are idle

According to experts, the situation in the real estate market in Russia is as follows:

  • the size of mortgage lending for secondary housing decreased by 27.3% in April compared to February this year;
  • the cost per square meter of finished housing increased by 3% in March;
  • the volume of prominent mortgages may be reduced by 20-40% by the end of 2022;
  • the rental market has sunk by 30% and the decline continues.

“The crisis that began led to an increase in the supply of housing for rent by 18-30%: apartments entered the market that could not be quickly sold due to the high cost of mortgages, as well as housing for Russians who left the country,” Getmantsev said.

But most car factories is idle due to the forced stop of conveyors. For their restoration, there are not enough components due to the break in supply chains.

And the leading Russian enterprises have planned to reduce the mode of operation. Market demand is expected to fall and there will also be a crisis in the supply of electronic components.

How the embargo on oil and gas can change the economy of the Russian Federation

Earlier, Segodnya spoke with financial analyst and economist Alexei Luponosov and found out why everyone is so eager to impose an embargo on Russian resources.

According to the expert, this is one of the necessary conditions for to stop the war against Ukraine.

“Statistics were cited that about 40 billion euros for energy resources alone were transferred to the Russian Federation by the European Union, and the assistance provided to Ukraine from the EU during the same time amounted to only 8 billion,” explains Luponosov.

In this regard, the question arises – how will the world community be able to curb Putin, if only for energy resources and only from the EU countries he receives about 40 billion euros in 40 days, that is almost a billion a day.

“Therefore, the demand of strategists from all the countries that support us is that Russia should stop being fed with real money,” the analyst says.

Putin needs to pay salaries to the same military and establish new export channels through China. You can stop it blocking the flow of currencies to Russiaand this will help the embargo on energy resources.

About whether it can quickly work and give results, read in our material.

Segodnya also told how Putin is destroying the lives of ordinary Russians with a war in Ukraine and which EU country has introduced the most effective sanctions against the Russian Federation.
