Enel: Lanzetta, Montalto is a model to be replicated for Italy

Electric Days, Jaguar Land Rover:

(ANSA) – MONTALTO DI CASTRO, APRIL 22 – The project for the new energy center in the Enel plant in Montalto di Castro demonstrates that it is an “Imby” model, that is “in my garden” contrary to the “Nimby” which is only a protest, and “it is a model to be replicated in Italy”. The Italian director of Enel Nicola Lanzetta said this on the occasion of the presentation of the “Museum of energy” project in the plants destined for the nuclear power plant in the municipality of Viterbese but which never came into operation and which are located within the site of the power plant “Alessandro Volta” in Montalto.

Lanzetta explained that the project that aims to make this site an integrated energy hub demonstrates that “the energy transition can be done starting from the circular economy (with the recovery of abandoned plants), from the creation of new activities and jobs. , and which can also be a cultural accelerator, both for the presence of the museum but also for the birth of new skills and new technologies, other than cultural impoverishment “. And then there is also “beauty, you can revolutionize by being beautiful”, as this site will be in its new guise. So “for Italy, well one, one hundred, one thousand Montalts”, Lanzetta wished.

All this, he continued, also demonstrates that “we are going through a real revolution with the energy transition and even if we did not care about the environment we would still find ourselves facing this situation”, which in the contingent “is tragic” due to the conflict in Ukraine.

Lanzetta then recalled the commitments of the “first Italian multinational” on the energy front, with 15.5 billion investments for 2022-2024 to develop renewable technologies, the strengthening of the grid (“this year we will celebrate one million sites that produce electricity in Italy “) and storage systems (a station is planned in Montalto).
