Since the beginning of the war, the state has regulated the prices of some products. However, the rise in prices for some of them did occur, as well as for other categories of goods.

“Today” says that since the beginning of martial law in Ukraine, the price has risen the most.

Significant increase in prices for vegetables

According to the State Statistics Service, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose in March 6.2%. In particular, the largest growth was observed in fruits and vegetables – 21.3% and 15.5% respectively.

If you look at the rise in the price of ingredients for borscht, then from the beginning of March to mid-April, prices increased as follows:

  • meat – by 21.3%;
  • potatoes – by 14.5%;
  • beets – by 3%;
  • carrots – by 13.3%;
  • sour cream – by 9.1%.

At the same time, as Oleg Pendzin, a member of the Economic Discussion Club, told Segodnya, The main reason for the rise in prices is logistical problems. It is also the impossibility of importing, because the Black Sea ports are blocked. In some cases, goods are imported bypassing through other countries, and therefore the cost of them increases.

The price of clothes, shoes, and equipment has risen

During the period of martial law increased by 13% prices for clothes and shoes. In addition, fuel and machine lubricants went up by 7.7%.

Noticeable growth happened and on popular equipment. We said that the prices for some iPhone models rose from 17 thousand to almost 21 thousand. Laptops, smartwatches, tablets and other popular gadgets have risen in price. In most cases, the peak of the take-off occurred at the end of March, and already in April, prices slowed down.

In which cities the shelves are overflowing with products, and where they are not enough

Earlier we said that in some areas of Kyiv there is a shortage of dairy products. The situation with eggs, meat and canned food has improved, but it is difficult to buy inexpensive cheese or sausage.

The situation near Kyiv is somewhat different. For example, it is very difficult to find fresh fish, the choice of cereals, cheeses and bread has significantly decreased. And sometimes it’s hard to find even salt or soda. Also in the stores of some areas of the Kyiv region there is no yeast and bananas.

But the situation much worse in the east of the country.

“In general, we have a food collapse in supermarkets. People live at the expense of small shops. In one supermarket, we only have pearl barley, flour, butter, some fruits and onions. It is impossible to buy sugar,” said a resident of the Donetsk region.

Residents of Dnipro report that it is impossible to find yeast and vanillin anywhere. Absolutely the situation is different in the west. For example, in Bukovel there are enough goods.

“Everything is here, except for the normal adequate prices”, locals write.

And here in Lviv dry rations, sweets and hygiene products disappeared from supermarkets. However, Lviv residents assume that this is due to the collection of humanitarian aid.

We also talked about the fact that Ukraine showed the world a plan for total pressure on the Russian Federation, and how to get unemployment benefits during the war.
