Gas, Legambiente:

(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 27 – The energy deficit reached 8,256 million in March (it was 2,673 million a year earlier). Istat communicates it. The surplus in the trade of non-energy products increases, albeit to a limited extent: from 7,479 million for March 2021 to 7,742 million for March 2022. “Purchases of energy products – mainly from Russia and OPEC countries – contribute 36 percentage points to the marked tendential increase in Italian imports from non-EU countries “, observes Istat and” the energy deficit is considerably widening “.

In general, again in March, trade with non-EU27 countries marks a cyclical increase for both flows, slightly larger for imports (+ 2.3%) than for exports (+ 2.0%). Exports grow by 22.1% on an annual basis. The increase is extended to all groupings and is particularly marked for energy (+ 47.9%) and non-durable consumer goods (+ 28.0%). Imports recorded a more intense trend growth (+ 60.9%), also widespread and very high in terms of energy (+ 176.1%).

The trade deficit with non-EU countries is equal to 515 million, compared to a surplus of 4,806 million in the same month of 2021. (ANSA).
